Nancy Parsons may have passed the most important physical in her life this past week.
She is now eligible to have her life insured for a policy that would name the Seward County Historical Society the benefactor.
But the insurance policy will have a rate increase after May 27, and anyone who wants to contribute to the fund to help provide a financial legacy to the museum by contributing to the one-time premium needs to make their gift prior to that date.
“We want those that have been pioneers of this community to help secure this gift,” Nancy said.
The goal is to provide a $1 million policy, but the fund needs about $200,000 to purchase that type of gift. Currently, the fund has received about $40,000 in tax deductible gifts, which is close to purchasing a policy that would provide $250,000 in coverage.
“This area has been good to Nancy,” husband Don Parsons said. “Now we can all work together to provide a legacy for the future.”
Gifts can be made to the Seward County Historical Society for the “Insuring the Future - Preserving the Past” fund. Every dollar raised will make the amount of the gift higher by allowing the largest possible premium to purchase the maximum amount of coverage.
This gift is not for any one project at the museum and will not pay until Nancy’s death. But the one-time premium guarantees that at some time in the future, the Historical Society will receive the funds.
