Lewis offers resignation to move to south Texas because of husband’s promotion, transfer
• Daily Leader staff report
Seward County will soon be looking for a new Activity Center director.
Current department head Janet Lewis sent the following statement to the Daily Leader Monday evening:
“It is with a sad heart but eager anticipation that I share with you the following news.
“My husband, Richard, and I will soon be leaving Liberal.
“Richard has been promoted to Wellwork Superintendent for ExxonMobil’s South Texas Operations Area. He will begin working there permanently in June. We will be selling our home in Liberal and relocating to Corpus Christi, Texas. I anticipate leaving my position as Seward County Event Center director sometime mid to late July.
“In the past four-plus years, Liberal has been our ‘home.’ The people I have met, shared with, worked alongside and gotten to know will have a lasting place in my heart. I’ve learned from you, laughed and shared with you, but mostly grown because of you. I appreciate everything you have done for me and will not forget my time here.
“Liberal and Southwest Kansas are truly blessed to have such wonderful people. May we never lose touch.”
