JOHNSON – Gabriel “Frenchie” LeBlanc, 69, died Tuesday, May 11, 2011, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
He was born March 2, 1941, to William Thomas and Evelyn (Philomene) LeBlanc at Margaree Harbor, NS, Canada.
He married Mary Carmalita Jiron in 1962. She preceded him in death on Sept. 16, 1997.
He worked for Clawson Farms in Ryus, and Julian Farms in Johnson. He later worked a number of years for Popejoy Construction, Richie Paving and Brown and Brown in asphalt construction.
He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
He is survived by two sons, Daniel and wife, Amber, Johnson and Donald, Johnson; two brothers, Father Peter LeBlanc, Cheticamp, NS, Canada and Alec LeBlanc, Lower Sackbill, NS, Canada; two sisters, Ann Zande, Boston, Mass. and Mary Sutter, Alberta, Canada; and four grandchildren, Ashley, Anna, Austin and Gabriel.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Jackie
o Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Johnson with Pastor A.C. Palmer presiding.
Burial will follow at Stanton County Cemetery.
Friends may call 10 a.m until 8 p.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home.
