Age: 29
Experience: Firefighter in the United States Air Force for four years. Hired full time in Liberal in February, was a volunteer firefighter prior to LFD.
Hometown: Born and raised in Liberal
Education: University of Oklahoma following graduation from Turpin High School, Turpin, Okla., then joined the United States Air Force. Works full time at Seward County Community College Area Technical School as assistant director and GED coordinator for the Colvin Adult Learning Center
Special training: Hazmat Incident Commander Certified, Hazmat Technician Certified, Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Airport firefighter training, rope rescue
Hobbies: Work out and play golf
Interests: “My main interest is my 5-year-old son, I stay focused with that.”
Why firefighting? “I chose firefighting because it has always been a dream of mine as a child. When the opportunity came with the Air Force, I decided to go with being a firefighter. I just love helping people and serving the community.”
