Helen L. Hamm, 97, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Good Samaritan Center in Liberal.
She was born Oct. 13, 1912, to Isaac W. and Nettie Cornelson Wiebe, in Saskatchewan, Canada.
She married Abraham A. Hamm March 6, 1935. He died in October 1985.
She attended the Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church. She got her eighth grade education in a country school near the family home.
She was a member of the Adams Mennonite Brethren Church. She was a charter member of the Gospel of Grace Church where she taught primary Sunday school. She was active in the Ladies Missionary Fellowship.
She was a seamstress. She enjoyed piecing quilts. She loved to crochet afghans .
Survivors include her children, Jeanette and husband, Don Reimer, Mountain View, Okla., Abie and wife, Verna, Adams, Okla., Sonya and husband, Howard Frantz, Balko, Okla., and Sandra and husband, Marion,rural, Hooker, Okla.; one brother, Ernest and his wife, Mary, Guymon, Okla.; two sisters, Mabel and husband, George Toews, Enid, Okla., Sarah Toews, Enid; 14 grandchldren; 15 great-grandchldren; and one sister-in-law, Rose Nikkel, Liberal.
She was also preceded in death were her parents; two sisters, Esther Hamm and Bessie Voth; one brother, Albert Wiebe; two sisters in-law, Alice Wiebe and Dorothy Wiebe; three brothers-in-laws, Henry Hamm, John Voth, Johnnie Toews; and two infant grandsons.
o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Gospel of Grace Church in Hooker, with the Rev. Chris McFarland presiding.
Burial will be at the Hooker Cemetery.
