ABOVE: Ginny Anderson committee chair for Needles and Friends Quilt Guild’s Fire and Ice challenge presents Liberal Fire Department Deputy Chief Skeety Poulton with donations for the LFD’s Fire Pup Program presented to students throughout USD No. 480. “With all your help and every woman that did the little finger stitching and gave up her time and talent to help with this, we have raised $1,000,” Anderson said. “We are going to be getting a lot of material.” Quilts were on display at First National Bank from April 9 through 27. Those viewing the quilts were encouraged to make donations for the Fire Pup Program. “Wow, that is incredible,” Poulton said. “I think a little of 1,700 kids throughout the school district received booklets. Thank you, I appreciate that.”  Daily Leader photos/Jessica Crawford
