Richard H. Arnett, 73, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

He was born Dec. 7, 1936, to Harold G. and Doris F. Webber Arnett in Liberal.

He married Harriett A. Lofland July 22, 1956, in Liberal. She survives.

He attended Alma and Hayne schools and graduated Liberal High School in 1955.

He worked for the Lofland Ranch, Port of Entry and Robo Car Wash. For 15 years, he was employed by the Kansas Department of Transportation as equipment  operator, retiring in the 1997.

He was a member of the Grace Evangelical Church of Liberal.

He was a 4-H club leader.

He enjoyed family trips and gatherings, riding horses and watching car races and rodeos.

He is also survived by one son, Kelly Arnett and wife, Kelly, Yukon, Okla.; one daughter, Gail Owens and husband, Galen, Liberal; two brothers, Kevin Arnett and wife, Nedra, Liberal, and Galen Arnett and wife, Pat, Wichita; one sister, Alana Johnson Drew, Bandera, Texas; nine grandchildren, Andrew Owens and fiancee, Lisa Wiley, Dennis Owens and wife, Kayla, Rustin and Dustin Arnett, Koelton and Bryson Owens and Chishom, Brooklyn and Taryn Arnett; and one great-grandchild, Bryson Owens.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Dennis and Rickie Arnett.

o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the  Grace Evangelical Church, with Pastor Andrew Wehling presiding.

Burial will be at the Liberal Cemetery.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church or to Liberal Good Samaritan in care of the mortuary.
