HOOKER, Okla. – Mark Alan Meyer, 54, died Friday, April 23, 2010, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

He was born Dec. 6, 1955, to Doyt and Maudie (Gentert) Meyer in Lakin.

He graduated from Hooker High School in 1974 and attended OPSU in Goodwell, Okla.

He married Rebekah Bates March 18, 2010 in Lakin. She survives.

He worked for MAPCO in Tyrone, which became Tiberland Gathering and Processing, as a field supervisor.

He was a member of the Wesleyan Church in Lakin.

He enjoyed making scrapbooks, learning about vehicles, singing, playing the guitar, listening to music, riding motorcycles with his wife in the mountains of Colorado, reading, studying maps, completing crossword puzzles, and attending grandchildrens’ activities.

He is also survived by his mother, Billie Gene Meyer, Hooker, Okla.; one son, Joey Meyer and fiancée, Carmen Gonzales, Taos, N.M.; four daughters, Andi Paden and husband, Robbie, Hooker, Heather Neville and husband, Kyle, Guymon, Okla., Maudie Meyer and fiancée, Jeremy Cook Oklahoma City, Okla. and Marcie Meyer, Hooker; three step-sons, Rodney Duran and wife, Vanessa, Portsmouth, Va., Ryan Barnes and wife, Cara, Lakin and Michael Barnes, Lakin; one brother, Monty Meyer and wife, Shannon, Hutchinson; two sisters, Pam Harvey and husband, Leo Marc, Oklahoma City and Malissa Thomason and husband, Ken, Southlake, Texas; seven grandchildren, Janessa Meyer, Karder, Karson and Ezabella Neville, Kinsey, Blane and Cy Paden; six step-grandchildren, Alyssa, Rodney Jr., Dallas and Jared Duran and Christopher and Kaylee Barnes. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Doyt and mother, Maudie and Mary. 

o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Hooker with the Rev. Mark and the Rev. Marcelle Hamel presiding.

Burial will be at the Hooker Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) or the Hooker Cemetery Fund in care of the Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Inc., P.O. Box 745, Hooker, Oklahoma, 73945.
