MONTEZUMA – Marjorie Dirks, 88, died Monday, April 19, 2010, at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City.
She was born July 5, 1921, to Jonathan and Fanny (Jantz) Koehn in Sitka.
She married Vernon Dirks Sept. 27, 1942, in Montezuma. He preceded her in death May 24, 2001.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Homeland Mennonite Church in Montezuma.
She loved her family and enjoyed being with them.
She is survived by two sons, Donald Ray Dirks and wife, Carol, Walker, Mo. and Oran Jay Dirks and wife, Teresa, Schell City, Mo.; two daughters, Delores Koehn and husband, Merle, Montezuma and Patricia Schmidt and husband, Robert, Chickasha, Okla.; one sister, Madesta Giesbrecht, Montezuma; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Laverna Mae and Alice Rose Dirks; one granddaughter, Emily Schmidt; and two great-grandsons, Collin Koehn and Cody Koehn.
o Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Homeland Mennonite Church in Montezuma.
Burial will be at the North Mennonite Cemetery in Montezuma.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Montezuma Funeral Home.
