Jeffery R. “Pynaple” Yowell, 60, died Saturday April 17, 2010, at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park.

He was born Feb. 3, 1950, to Samuel Jackson and Alice (Toledo) Yowell in Kansas City, Kan.

He married Barbara Jacobs in June 1971 in Hooker, Okla.

He attended Washington High School in Wyandotte County and later obtained his GED.  He received an associates degree from Seward County Community College in computer technology.

He was employed as tool pusher for Unit Drilling. He served in the United States Marine Corps, in Viet Nam, from 1968-1971.

Survivors include his father, Samuel Jackson Yowell, Liberal; his stepmother, Beverly Yowell                                     Liberal; two sons, Jacob Yowell, Liberal, and Jonathan Yowell, Liberal; two daughters, Jenifer Yowell, Las Vegas, and Jaclyn Yowell, Haviland; one brother, Jerry “Rat” Yowell and wife, Molly, Yukon, Okla.; and one sister, Jana Hunt, Fort Worth, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Yowell, and one brother, Bob Yowell.

o Memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Faith Tabernacle with Richard Hanson presiding.

Cremation has taken place.

A private burial will be at a later date.

Friends may sign the guest register from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home. At the families’ request, those attending, please dress casual.

In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are suggested to the charity of donor’s choice or to Faith Tabernacle in care of Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. Second, Liberal, KS  67901.
