Janet Ruth Whisenant, 68, died Monday, April 12, 2010, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
She was born February 10, 1942, to Robert Dean and Joella (Woods) Bromlow near Fairview, Okla.
She graduated from Guymon High School.
She married Ronald Lee Smith.
Later she married Joe L. Whisenant on April 7, 1984, in Liberal. He preceded her in death February 28, 2001.
She enjoyed music and played the violin for Guymon High School Orchestra and the Liberal Community Concert. Janet loved to attend grandchildren's activities, camping and fishing, playing bingo, and trips with family.
She is survived by one daughter, Ronda Schilling and husband, Scotty, Follett, Texas; one brother, Bob Bromlow and wife, Joan, Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Velva Perkins and Nancy Flick and husband, Ray, Ratliff City, Okla.; two grandchildren, Derek Schilling and wife, Tara, Amarillo and Blair Schilling, Amarillo; companion Don Hatfield, Liberal; and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ira; and one sister, Judy.
o Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church with the Rev. David Randall presiding.
Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Fairmont Cemetery in Follett, Texas, with Brother Clay Wells presiding.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today, and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday with family present 6:30 to 8 p.m.
