Lucille T. Campion, 96, died Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Liberal Good Samaritan Center.
She was born Oct. 7, 1913, in Portland, Ore.
She married Dr. Woodrow M. Campion June 25, 1939, in Wichita. He died March 13, 1986.
She attended Wichita schools and Wichita University.
She was a member of the Southwest Medical Center Auxiliary and of First Baptist Church as well as a many volunteer groups, notably the American Cancer Society, where she was a board member for over 50 years. She was a part of the ESL group that helped teach reading and English as a second language and received the Citizen of the Year award in 1997 given by the Southwest Daily Times newspaper.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary K. Campion Dunn, M.D. and husband, Vincent B. Dunn, Wichita; and one granddaughter, Catherine A. Dunn, Wichita.
She was also preceded in death by one son, William J. Campion.
o Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel in Liberal with the Rev. Rex Petty presiding.
Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery of Liberal.
Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.
