Authorities have arrested two men for allegedly being involved in a Monday evening shooting that, fortunately, injured no one.
At about 8 p.m. Monday, officers were dispatched to the 700 block of South New York for a report of a fight. While officers were responding, they received a report of shots fired, according to a statement released by Liberal Police Capt. Patrick McClurg.
“Investigating officers learned that an altercation occurred at 725 South New York. Witnesses described seeing a man holding a crow bar and another displaying a firearm. At some point during the confrontation, witnesses reported hearing gunshots. No injuries were reported,” McClurg noted.
“Investigating officers arrested a 20-year-old male for aggravated assault and a 24-year-old male for attempted murder. An affidavit will be filed with the Seward County District Attorney for filing of formal charges,” the release concluded.
