Liberal’s Britton Abbott works through a drill with Oklahoma State assistant coach Jemal Singleton Aug. 1. Abbott signed with the Cowboys after a record-setting season at quarterback for the Liberal Redskins where he led the team to a 5-5 record. Abbott and the Cowboys used Saturday’s practice for a 131-play scrimmage. The Pokes will begin their season Aug. 30 by hosting Florida State in Arlington, Texas. While Abbott played quarterback for the Redskins, he is listed as a fullback for the Cowboys along with four other players. Three of those (Derek Branson, Teddy Johnson and Ryan Lester) are seniors and one (Jeremy Seaton) is a junior. Courtesy photo
