An early morning shed fire Thursday was quickly contained by firefighters, but several dogs in the shed were lost.
The Liberal Fire Department responded to the fire at 3:23 a.m. Thursday at 421 Driftwood.
The first arriving units reported heavy flames showing from the shed and exposure fires to two adjacent fences. The shed was located in the rear yard of the property.

Firefighters remained on scene until 4:35 a.m. extinguishing hot spots and conducting an on-scene investigation. The shed is a total loss.
The Liberal Fire Department responded to the incident with 10 firefighters, two engines, and a light support vehicle. The Liberal Police Department responded to the incident as well.
Investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing at this time.
