Obituary

 

Victoria Alina “Vicki” Varela, 19, died July 14, 2014, in Seward County.

She was born July 30, 1994 to Roberto and Rosa Ericka (Avila) Varela in El Paso, Texas.

She graduated from San Elizario High School, El Paso, Texas in 2012.  She attended Seward County Community College.

She worked as a cashier and cook at the Kismet General Store in Kismet.

She was a member of Sigma Chi Chi.

Survivors include her parents; brother, Ernesto Varela Jr., El Paso, Texas; sisters, Claudia Varela, Arlington, Texas, and Mariana Varela, El Paso, Texas

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ofelia Avila; uncle, Beto Avila; and great-grandmother, Martina Avila.

• Rosary and Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal.

Funeral Mass and burial will be at a later date in El Paso, Texas.

Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Brenneman Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the Victoria Alina Varela Memorial Fund in care of the Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
