Left-wingers are spinning new definitions of tolerance, patriotism E-mail

I’m getting so weary of left-wing Democrats trying to convince me they’re “tolerant” and/or “patriotic.”

They are neither in my book.

I do remember the day when Democrats claimed to be the party of “tolerance.”

It was like, “I’m tolerant of men liking men,” then to “I’m tolerant of men having sex with other men,” and then, “I’m tolerant of men marrying other men.” And that’s fine and dandy for those who want to tolerate that.

But today, let someone stand up and say publicly they believe homosexuality is an abomination because of their belief in the Bible, and those tolerant people turn into foaming-at-the-mouth, rabid social terrorists. Their tolerance is actually relegated to “I’m tolerant of only people with my tolerances.”

Patriotism is the same thing with these hypocrites.

An article published July 4 in the CollegeFix.com by Greg Piper, exposed a man named Bill Bigelow of Rethinking Schools magazine and the Zinn Education Project. Here is what Bigelow had to say about Fourth of July fireworks: They are actually “a propaganda campaign that inures us – especially the children among us – to the real wars half a world away.”

Bigelow, a teacher, went on: “There is something profoundly inappropriate about blowing off fireworks at a time when the United States is waging war with real fireworks around the world.”

Piper explained Bigelow’s problems are that Bigelow and others of the same ilk influence children to the point children don’t know the tradition of fireworks, which dates back to July 3, 1776.

“They would rather make students feel guilty about being Americans than encourage them to appreciate the great things about their nation,” Piper said of Bigelow and other teachers.

Of course, Bigelow claims he’s still a patriot.

Hog wash.

How about the BS intolerant liberals are giving Holly Fisher, a conservative mother-of-three, who posted a photo online of her wearing a pro-life T-shirt, while posing in front of a Hobby Lobby store and holding a Chick-fil-A drinking cup after the Supreme Court’s decision last week in the Hobby Lobby case.

She started catching flak on social media, and someone said all she needed to add to the picture was a flag, a gun and a Bible.

Well, she did that and posted a photo showing her standing in front of the American flag holding a gun and a copy of the Holy Bible on July 4.

The “tolerant” ones’ heads exploded, some calling her the American Taliban, and the vitriol didn’t stop there.

One angry lefty said he hoped her baby girl dies. (Fisher’s youngest has had some respiratory problems).

Some tolerance, huh?

Fisher was reported tweeting “Isn’t it funny that the people who call me fat, ugly, a whore, stupid ...  a bitch, etc. are the same ones whining about the #WarOnWomen?”

In “The American Patriot’s Pocket Bible,” it highlights how today’s “tolerant” people have affected this country in numerous sidebars throughout this Bible.

Example: In Noah Webster’s An American Dictionary of the English Language, 1828:

patriotism, n. Love of one’s country; the passion which aims to serve one’s country, either in defending it from invasion, or protecting its rights and maintaining its laws and institutions in vigor and purity. Patriotism is the characteristic of a good citizen, the nobelist passion that animates a man in the character of a citizen.

Here is how it has been butchered in Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, Eleventh Edition, copyright 2004:

patriotism, n. Love for or devotion to one’s country.

That’s it friends, seven measly words.

Noah Webster’s patriot “defends his country with objective actions.”

The new definition is “vague, subjective patriotism of one who only ‘feels’ and ‘expresses love’ for his country.

The original definition includes, not only a love for country, but also “service to country, defense of country, protection of the rights of country, maintenance of the laws and institutions of country and preservation of religion and morality in public and private life.

“It puts the needs of the country above personal or partisan desires, as well as above the favor of foreign nations.”

When I hear these so-called patriots demeaning America with every word and action, yet calling themselves patriots, I want to puke.

Even though some have been brainwashed into believeing they are, its a lie.

“True patriotism is not just an emotional feeling; it is action.”

And a true patriot will die fighting to defend this country against her enemies – from abroad or from within.
