J. Elizabeth (Bettie) Elder, 96, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at the Morton County Care Center in Elkhart.

She was born on Aug. 16, 1918, to Ernest H. and Daisy (Wright) Fisher in Elkhart.

She married Burton Elder, Jr. on June 6, 1941.  He preceded her in death.

She enjoyed playing the piano.

Survivors include son, Bob Elder and wife, Joy, Albuquerque, N.M.; daughters, Sharla Elder, Hutchinson and Sandy Lane and husband, Richard, Ft. Collins, Colo.; grandsons, Carrick Williams, Vista, Calif., Ashley Hoden, Berlin, Nate Hoden, Atlanta, Brandon Elder, Wichita, and Denton Elder, Lawrence; granddaughters, Caisha Hinnen, Van Nuys, Calif. and Breeanne Youngers, San Diego.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at the Elkhart Cemetery, with Pastor Jim Cunningham presiding.
