ULYSSES – Lorene Talbert, 78, died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Bob Wilson Memorial Grant County Hospital in Ulysses.
She was born April 10, 1931, to George Earl and Feena (Litke) Steen in Walsh, Colo.
She married J.O. Talbert Feb. 23, 1950, in Clayton, N.M. He survives.
She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Ulysses.
She enjoyde gardening, playing the organ and piano and sitting on the porch with her husband, watching the traffic go by.
Other survivors include three sons, Kenneth D. Talbert and wife, Sandy, Lincoln, Neb., Lester E. Talbert and wife, Patty, Ulysses, and Clevern E. Talbert and wife, Sarah, Syracuse; one brother, Carroll Gene Steen and wife, Priscilla, Walsh; eight grandchildren, Josh, Johnny, Shannan, Larissa, Jamie, Troy, Miranda and Rebecca; six great-grandchildren, Andrew, John, Sean, Skyler, Khristian, Kobe and one on the way; and many nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Earnest Ruben Talbert, and one daughter-in-law, Darla Talbert.
o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Free Will Baptist Church in Ulysses with Richard Smith presiding.
Burial will be at the Ulysses Cemetery.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Grant County Funeral Home.
