Special to the Leader & Times

Saturday has been declared “Barry Mellen Day.”

The Southwestern Heights Lady Mustang Basketball Alumni Players have joined together to honor Mellen for all he has done for them on and off the court. They have invited everyone to join them in celebrating with Mellen all his outstanding accomplishments and the positive impact he has made over the years.  He is “One in a Mellen!”  The agenda for Saturday is as follows:

11 a.m. —  Parade and Ceremony

12 noon — Meal at the Community Building (Everyone is invited and there is no charge)

Following the meal will be a day of hanging out, catching up on the good old days, sharing stories, watching slide shows and celebrating with Mellen as he closes this chapter in his life and begins a new one.

Expect a few surprises.
