The Southwestern Heights Lady Mustangs outscored the Satanta Lady Indians 37-7 in just eight innings of two run-rule wins. Heights won Game 1, 18-1 and Game 2, 19-6.
Heights scored 13 runs in the second innings of Game 1. The game was called after three innings. The Lady Mustangs collected 13 hits, including a pair of doubles, a triple, and a home run. Heights also took advantage of six walks and six errors by the Lady Indians.
Four Lady Mustang batters reached base every plate appearance.
Celia Sanchez homered, drove in four runs, and scored a pair. Danielle Sanchez hit two doubles and drove in three runs. Viancy Jiminez tripled, and scored three runs.
Rachel Amerin pitched all three innings, giving up three hits, a walk, and an earned run while striking out six.
In Game 2, Satanta took an early 3-2 lead, but the Lady Mustangs scored five in the third, seven in the fourth, and five in the fifth to take over and then put the game away.
Satanta pitchers lacked control, giving up 15 walks and 10 hit batsmen. Heights needed just four hits.
Sara Eakes was 2-3 with a double, four RBI, and three runs scored. Lexi Stark collected four RBI and scored two runs. Celia Sanchez doubled, drove in two runs, and scored two runs.
