Obituary

Darrell Dean Headrick, age 60, died Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita, KS after a hard fought battle to regain his health following a sudden collapse about one month ago.
He was born April 23, 1954 at Liberal, KS, the son of E. Dean and Verna (Jantzen) Headrick. He was a 1972 graduate of Southwestern Heights High School and a graduate of Southwest Kansas Area VoTech.  Darrell was a dedicated farmer, farming all his life on the family farm, Headrick Farms.  When he was younger, he loved to ride motorcycles and go fishing. He was a collector of John Deere and Harley Davidson.  He always made time for family, whether making jokes at family get togethers or attending ball games, school activities and even trips to rock concerts.

Mother – Verna Headrick of Kismet, KS
1 Step-Son - Randy Johnson of St. Francis, KS
2 Step-Daughters – Ronda Staats and husband Brent of Liberal, KS;
Shelly Presley and husband Matt of Liberal, KS
2 Brothers – Jeff Headrick and wife Liz of Kismet, KS; 
Dan Headrick and wife Anita of Hot Springs, AR
1 Sister – Connie Cox and husband Steven of Long Island, KS
5 Grandchildren – Hailey Staats Parker, Taylor Staats, Chance Johnson, Codi Presley and Dalton Moody
1 Great Granddaughter – Ellie Parker
3 Nephews – Aaron Green, Andrew Green and Nathan Headrick
6 Nieces – Angela McKenna, Jessica Brewer, Amie Benson, Casie Headrick, Emily Headrick, Sarah Headrick
And Great Nephews and Nieces
He was preceded in death by his Father, Dean Headrick and Grandparents, Clyde and Nell Headrick and Dan and Ida Jantzen
• Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Wednesday, May 7, at Kismet United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Myers presiding.  Burial will follow at Kismet Cemetery, Kismet, KS.
Visitation will be  1 – 8 pm Monday and 9 am – 8 pm Tuesday with the family present to greet friends from 6:30 – 8 pm on Tuesday at Brenneman Funeral Home, Liberal, KS.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Meade State Park, Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or the Great Plains Angels for Animals in care of Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS  67901.
