A 38-year-old Liberal man has an upcoming date in district court. Carlos Hernandez was arrested on March 18 allegedly on one count each of rape of a mentally deficient person, aggravated criminal sodomy with a person with mental deficiency, furnishing alcohol to a minor, indecent solicitation of a child, conspiracy and soliciting to distribute depressants, according to jail logs obtained from the Seward County Sheriff’s office.

Hernandez has a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 7 at a time that has yet to be determined. Scott said he did not have the counts Hernandez was formally charged with, but he is being held at the county jail on a bond. Scott did not disclose the amount of the bond.
