The Southwestern Heights Lady Mustangs scored 44 runs in a total of just seven innings of play. Heights defeated Sublette 20-3 in three innings, and then won the nightcap 24-2 in four innings.
In Game 1, Heights led 10-3 after two innings, then added another ten in the third to win by run rule.
Danielle Sanchez was 4-4 with a triple, five RBI, and a stolen base. Dakoda Cox was 4-4 with a double, two RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base. Sarah Eakes was 2-3 with two doubles, a walk, three RBI, and two runs scored. Lexi Stark was 2-2 with two walks, three RBI, and three runs scored. Celia Sanchez and Viancy Jimenez each had three runs and an RBI.
Rachel Amerin pitched two innings, allowing three hits, no walks, no earned runs, while striking out two. Lexi Stark pitched one inning and allowed no hits or walks.
In Game 2 Heights exploded for seven runs in the third to go up 10-2. But the Lady Mustangs still had plenty of firepower left, scoring 14 runs in the fourth to win by 22.
Lexi Stark went 3-3 with two walks, three RBI, and three runs scored. Hannah Baldwin was 2-4 with a double and a walk, four RBI and four runs scored. Viancy Jimenez was 2-2 with two walks, a double, four RBI and a stolen base. Rachel Amerin was 2-3 with a walk, RBI, and three runs scored. Dianna Carrillo and Maria Gutierrez scored three runs apiece.
Sarah Eakes pitched all four innings for the Lady Mustangs, allowing five hits and two walks, while striking out five.
Southwestern Heights (8-4) will travel to Ulysses Thursday.
