HUGOTON – Laura Virginia Gillespie, 87, died Monday, April 21, 2014, at Pioneer Manor in Hugoton.
She was born Feb. 1, 1927 to Harry A. and Laura A. (Strickland) Wilson in Stevens County.
She married Glenn Gillespie on Aug. 28, 1948 in Stevens County. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2003.
She was a member of First Christian Church and Encouragement Ministries of Hugoton.
Survivors include three sons: Dennis Gillespie and wife, Sandy, Jefferson, Texas, Roger Gillespie and wife Gail, Hugoton, and Neal Gillespie, Hugoton; daughter, Kay Gillespie, Garden City; brother, Don E. Wilson and wife, Geneva, Hugoton; sister, Doris Fuller, Hugoton; eight grandchildren; 18 great -grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Goudy; brother, Tommy Wilson; and two grandsons, John White and Chay Gillespie.
• Funeral services will be on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Hugoton with Pastor Heath Kelley presiding.
Burial will be at Hugoton Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home
