One man was disabled, and two others suffered possible injuries in a two-vehicle accident Friday in northern Seward County.
According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, around 2:30 p.m., a 2002 Ford pickup, driven by Jordan D. Whitehurst, 18, of Derby, was westbound on U.S. Highway 160 about 15 miles north of Liberal.
At the same time, a 2005 Toyota passenger car, driven by Richard D.
Zujko, 65, of Liberal, was northbound on U.S. Highway 83.
According to the report, Whitehurst failed to yield to traffic and turned southbound on U.S.-83, striking the Toyota.
Whitehurst and a passenger in his vehicle, Jacob K. Dow, 18, of Wichita, were both listed with possible injuries in the KHP report.
Neither was treated, however, and Dow refused treatment at the scene.
Zujko was taken by Seward County EMS to Southwest Medical Center. He was later transported via Life Team to an unknown Wichita hospital.
Seat belts were in use in both vehicles, according to the report.
