• Special to the Leader & Times

The Seward County United Way is adding a volunteer component to its website. Non-profit organizations will be able to advertise for volunteers – for both ongoing needs and events. People interested in volunteering will be able to go to the web site to search for volunteer opportunities that are right for them.

The web site will not be live until the non-profit organizations have set up an account and put in their information. The site will not be able to host political organizations due to the United Way’s 501(c)3 status.

There will be two training sessions for non-profit organizations. One will be at noon, Tuesday, April 15, and other will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 16. The trainings will be at Mexican-American Ministries Liberal Care Center, 311 N. Grant. The training will be under an hour and refreshments will be served. Bring a laptop to help facilitate getting registered but it can also be done later.

To register for the free training, contact Kay Burtzloff at 624-5400 or email scunitedway@sbcglobal.
