JOHNSON – Ona Corrine Barber, 92, died April 3, 2014 at the Stanton County Memorial Living Center in Johnson.
She was born Oct. 25, 1921 to Laurence and Pearle (Webb) Nelson in Natoma.
She married Edd Barber on Oct. 27, 1940, at her grandparent’s home in Rooks County. He preceded her in death in 2001.
She graduated from Natoma High School in 1939.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include son, Tom and wife Maxine, Wichita; daughter, K. Ellen and husband Lyle Kersey of Johnson; six grandchildren: Beth and husband Frank Abramowich, Inverness, Fla., Glenn Barber and wife Jennifer, Wichita, Becky and husband Harley Peery, Goddard, Luke Kersey, Phoenix, Kaylee Kersey, Johnson and Landon Kersey and wife Chanda, Oklahoma City; 11 great-grandchildren: Katy, Kelly, and Amy Abramowich, Caroline and Julia Barber, Seth, Ashley, Blaine and Anna Peery, and Dacie and Hayden Kersey; brother, Bill Nelson and wife Helen, Norton; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
• Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Bethel Church of the Nazarene in Johnson with Pastor Ken Armstrong presiding.
Burial will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on today at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.
