TURPIN, Okla—The Turpin Cardinals picked up two more wins Thursday with 14-3 and 10-2 wins over the Tyrone Bobcats.

“Always happy with two wins,” Cardinals manager Mario Mendoza said. We still have to cut down on the fielding errors. We need those guys on the bottom of the order came through for us some today. They are hitting better.”

Even though the game was played at Turpin, both games were designated home games for Tyrone. Tyrone does not have a home field.

The Cardinals scored 3 runs in the first and second innings to take a 6-0 lead. Tyrone took advantage of a pair of hits and four Turpin errors in the bottom of the third to cut the Cardinals lead in half (6-3).

Turpin took back control with 8 runs in the fourth, including a triple by Kyler Musgrave to make the score 14-3.

The Bobcats were unable to get a run across, ending the game by run-rule.

“I thought both our pitchers through strikes, but we didn't make plays in the field,” Bobcats manager Clay Witt. “We have to be better defensively if we are going to stay in games. Turpin made us pay. We haven't been hitting the ball well at all and today we had some guys put the ball in play.”

Matt Young picked up the win on the mound, giving up 2 hits and striking out nine. At the plate, Young was3-3 with two stolen bases and two runs scored.

Kyler Musgrave was 2-2 with a walk, a triple, two stolen bases, an RBI and four runs scored.

George Dominguez was 2-2 with two walks and two RBI. Jordon Lujan was 2-3 with a walk and 3 stolen bases and three runs scored. Kenny Holmes was 1-2 with a walk and a run scored.

For Tyrone, Austin Olson was 1-3 with a run scored. Nerlin Rivera had two stolen bases, and James Schoolcraft had one stolen base. Ethan Reese was 1-2.

In Game 2, Turpin managed to score ten runs without recording a hit in the scorebook. A combination of errors, walks, and fielder's choice plays moved runners across home.

Turpin took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but Tyrone scored two in the bottom half to cut the lead back to one. Turpin added another in the second, then six in the third to win by eight runs.

Jordon Lujan reached base on all three at bats, had five stolen bases and scored two runs. Eric Bromlow had two walks, two runs scored, and three stolen bases. Kyler Musgrave had two stolen bases, two walks, and a run scored. Davian Ratzlaff scored a run and had two stolen bases.
