Seward County poll worker Linda Martinez helps Dave Hall cast his ballot this morning in the special bond election for hospital improvements. If approved, Southwest Medical Center will be able to make $17 million in expansion and improvements that include a new MRI, expanded emergency room space, a redesign to help in the growing need for outpatient care and other enhancements designed to recruit and retain health care professionals. Advanced voting reached a record high 444 votes, but early turnout was light with only 39 voters in the first hour.
