By Mark Strange, Liberal

I would like to encourage everyone to vote “Yes” in the upcoming election for the 1/2-cent sales tax and “Yes”to the school bond Issue.

Our school facilities are in dire need of updating. Many people do not have the opportunity to go into some of our school buildings to see the overcrowding and deteriorated conditions of theses buildings – many that were built 60-plus years ago. I have been in several of these buildings in the last couple of years and was shocked.

Most homes that people live in which are that old, have been updated to accommodate things like dishwashers, microwaves, other appliances and electronics that were not in existence or even thought of when those homes were built.

If you think about the amount of technology that has come along since many of these schools were built, it is mind boggling. These are not frivolous improvements that are being made, but necessities.

We have a once in a lifetime opportunity to pass this 1/2-cent sales tax which will account for 22 percent of the total cost of the bond issue with the State of Kansas chipping in 49 percent leaving only 29 percent to be paid through property taxes.

As a property owner and independent business owner, I wholeheartedly endorse voting “Yes” on both of these issues.

If we don't take advantage of this opportunity, the next time it will all fall to the property owners to pay.

Please join me in voting “Yes” to the 1/2-cent sales tax and “Yes” to the school bond issue on April 8.

Today I wish have to you in the form in which it was necessary to go into has already been given viagra for sale is a identity choice of each person buy viagra must appreciate every person without helping.
