ULYSSES – Paulette M. Fort, 61, died Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.
She was born Nov. 10, 1952 to Martin and Esther (Fisher) Bieker in Ellis.
She married Greg Fort on July 26, 1975 in Hays.
She grew up in Ellis and graduated from Ellis High School.
She attended Colby Community College and Fort Hays State University, where she pursued a Bachelor of Science Degree in Library Science.
From 1985 to 2000 she was a Guidance Counselor Secretary, and then worked at the central office as the Administrative Secretary for the Superintendent of Ulysses Schools.
She was an avid gardener and a wonderful cook and baker.
She also belonged to PEO, Jr. Civic, Big Orange Boosters, and was a Ulysses Tigers and KSU Fan.
Survivors include her husband; daughter, Taryn Fort-Doyle and husband Matt Doyle, Denver; son, Thayne Fort and wife Jennie, Denver; brother, Jerry Bieker and wife Susie, Denver; and one granddaughter, Ginger Doyle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Tyson Gabriel Fort in 1985.
• Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses with the Reverend Janet Hernandez and Reverend Sam Bynum presiding.
Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
