TURPIN, Okla. – Ruby L. Matkin died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at Southwest Medical Center, Liberal.
She was born to Charles Randall and Mae Gay Aaron in Four Points, Ga.
She married Alvin C “Bud” Matkin Nov. 27, 1945, in Statesboro, Ga. He died July 29, 2006.
She graduated from Millen (Ga.) High School.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
She enjoyed cooking, her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by one son, Randall Matkin and wife, Mary Beth, Carrolton, Texas; one daughter, Deanne Alexander, Amarillo, Texas; one sister, Venice Gay, Garfield, Ga.; five grandchildren, April Warden and husband, Ron, Liberal, Jeff Alexander and wife, Jessica, Amarillo, Marcus Matkin, Balko, Okla., Brad Alexander, Plains, Amy Sulley and husband, Steve, Arvada, CO; seven great-grandchildren, Megan, Rayce, Aubrey, Madeline, Lexi, Anthony and soon to be MaKenna Grace; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Morgan and Ira Aaron.
o Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Miller Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Lehnert presiding.
Burial will be at the Liberal Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Miller Mortuary.
