After falling behind in the first inning, Becky Allen hit a home run as part of a five-run rally to lift the Lady Saints to a 5-1 win over McCook, Neb., in Game 1 of a double header Monday at Lady Saints Field.
Katelyn Craker pitched a complete game, and after giving up one run in the first inning, Craker settled in and scattered six hits in seven innings, walked four and struck out three.
After trailing in the first, Seward tied the game in the second and took a 3-1 lead in the third.
The Lady Saints added two more runs in the fifth.
Allen went two-for-three and scored two runs in the 5-1 win.
Andrea Sitter was one-for-three and scored twice. Marissa Chavez also added a run.
Pokey Ewell and Danielle Orr each had doubles in the win.
Brittany Hopkins pitched a gem in Game 2, only giving up three hits and no runs in a five-inning game shortened by the run-rule in an 11-0 Lady Saints win.
Seward scored six runs in the first inning, added another in the second and four more in the fourth.
Te Lady Saints belted out 10 hits and took advantage of five walks in the win.
