Kyler Musgrave collected 8 strikeouts, but five fielding errors led to too many unearned runs as the Turpin Cardinals lost 7-3 to the Guymon Tigers.
“We hit the ball better, but we still have too cut down on the strikeouts,” Cardinals coach Mario Mendoza said.
Turpin gave up one run in the first, but took the lead in the top of the second with three runs off of hits by Musgrave and Enriquez.
Guymon tied the game in the bottom half of the inning. Both teams were scoreless for the next three inning, but a four-run sixth for the Tigers was the difference.
Kyler Musgrave was 2 of 3 with 2 RBI; Willy Enriquez was 1-2 with an RBI, and Hunter Clark was 1-3.
Turpin (0-3) will travel to Beaver (0-0) Thursday.
