Last week, the City of Liberal adopted an ordinance, which approved and adopted a Neighborhood Revitalization Plan.

That adoption also authorized the execution of an interlocal agreement with Seward County for the purpose of providing a program for neighborhood revitalization.

The financial impact of the agreement has yet to be determined, and copies of the ordinance, a draft of the interlocal agreement and the NRP have been provided to the county commission.

The commission’s meeting is scheduled to take place starting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, and county staff is recommending board members review and discuss the NRP and to consider authorizing chairman Ada Linenbroker to sign the interlocal agreement.

City of Liberal Housing Director Karen LaFreniere will be on hand to answer question that may arise.
