L&T staff report

South’s eighth graders found little offense in a 44-15 loss to Hugoton Thursday.

Hugoton dominated early, using two three-pointers in the first quarter to jump out to an 11-2 lead.

Six different Eagles scored in the second quarter for a 19-point explosion while the Apaches scored five points and trailed 30-7 at half.

South’s best offensive quarter was the third. The Apaches scored six points in the period, but it was still not enough to keep pace with 12 more Hugoton points.

Both teams added two points in the fourth quarter, and Hugoton won 44-15.
