No. 11 Hooker 40, No. 9 Sayre 38
The Hooker Lady Bulldogs advanced to 21-2 on the season and stayed alive in post-season play with a 40-38 win over Sayre Thursday.
Kyra Catchcart led the Lady Bulldogs with 11 points, Naomi Rodriguez had nine, Mariana Cervantes added eight, and Shani Miller had seven.
Hooker had a 24-22 halftime lead, but Sayre tied the game at 29 at the end of the third quarter before the Lady Bulldogs edged out a two-point advantage in the fourth.
Hooker advanced to Saturday’s regional final with No. 4 Thomas. Tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
Dover 60, Tyrone 50
The Bobcats ended their season Thursday with a 60-50 loss to Dover.
The defensive pressure disrupted Tyrone’s offense, and at halftime the Bobcats trailed 28-23.
Dover led 44-38 after the third, and the Bobcats couldn’t slow down Dover in the fourth.
Willie Slater led the Bobcats with 15 points, and Ethan Reece had 10.
Tyrone ended the season at 16-10.
Beaver 59, No. 13 Cheyenne 42
The Dusters stayed alive in post-season play Thursday with a 59-42 win over Cheyenne.
Beaver trailed after the first quarter, 12-8, and 25-22 at half.
But the Dusters dominated the second half with strong defense, outscoring Cheyenne 37-17 for the 59-42 win.
Garrett Weber led the Dusters with 18 points, Andrew Jesko scored 13, and Jorge Rivera had 11.
Beaver will face Laverne at 3 p.m. today.
Hooker 51, Mangum 43
Hooker continued its quest for a beth in the Oklahoma State Tournament Thursday with a 51-43 win over Mangum.
Hooker jumped out to a 12-5 lead in the first quarter, and the continued to lead 23-17 at half.
Mangum outscored Hooker 9-6 in the third to cut the Bulldog lead to three, but Hooker outpaced Mangum 22-17 in the fourth to preserve the 51-43 win.
Alex Juarez led the Bulldogs with 12 points, Hunter Brown scored 10, and John Godfrey and Dayton Metcalf each had nine.
The Bulldogs will play Thomas at 3 pm. today.
