L&T staff report

It took 53 days, but the first hole in one at Willow Tree Golf Course in 2014 was hit Saturday, and not on the easiest of holes.

Trent Weber completed the feat on the 149-yard seventh hole.

Golf pro and course manager Chris Ewalt described the club used as a “four hybrid” club.

Not only is the seventh hole one of the more difficult holes to ace, but Weber did it as a 13-year-old.

“He is a regular,” Ewalt said. “He has been in all my junior golf sessions. He is a real good kid.”

Weber is a seventh grader and attends school in Turpin.

The course is open for golf any time the temperature is above 38 degrees and is open any day of the week between the hours of  8 a.m.  and dusk.
