GARDEN CITY – Lorena M. Brown, 92, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2014 at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.

She was born August 10, 1921, to Walter James and Kate M. (Paddock) Wisby in Cloud County.

She married LaVerne Brown in Concordia April 14, 1941.  He preceded her in death.

She worked as an x-ray technician.  After retiring from Southwest Medical Center in Liberal in 1985, she began working as a cook at Sunflower Elementary School.

Survivors include a son, James D. Brown, Holcomb.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Gertrude Crumm.

• A private family burial will take place at a later date.
