I warned readers that Democrats running for office in November would start turning their backs on Obama and his policies. That is being proved nearly every day,
But what I overlooked was Obama’s devious mind and his possible reactions when it comes to the real possibility Dems might lose the Senate majority.
He has done exactly what he promised, he used his pen to bypass Congress and changed Obamacare once again.
He has delayed small businesses from having to implement Obamacare by Jan. 1, 2015 (which he changed from the original date in 2014). He has now put it off until 2016.
He has done this in order to try and help his Democrat colleagues maintain their hold on the Senate – and that is the only reason.
It proves once more that this president is the most lawless, anti-constitutional man ever to sit in the White House.
Nowhere in our Constitution does it say a sitting president can change laws that were approved by Congress, without Congress’ approval “by vote.”
According to the Galen Institute (a not-for-profit health and tax policy research organization), “more than 35 significant changes already have been made to Obamacare: At least 18 that President Obama has made unilaterally, 15 that Congress has passed and the president has signed, and two by the Supreme Court.”
This lawless behavior permeates Obama’s Adminstration like the putrid smells from a packing plant – but it’s the odor of death to the rule of law, the Constitution and the liberty of a free people we’re smelling.
When deceit and unlawful actions come spewing from the top down, it’s no wonder Obama’s hired killers of liberty also get on the bandwagon.
Let’s just look at Attorney General Eric Holder for proof.
Holder’s Fast and Furious operation in which agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives allowed suspected gun smugglers to purchase weapons from Phoenix-area shops with the intention of tracking them to Mexican drug cartels, resulted in the death of U.S. Agent Brian Terry.
The ATF allowed the purchase of 2,000 guns, but then lost track of more than 1,400 of them. Two of those guns were found at the scene of Terry’s murder in southern Arizona, and dozens of others were found at crime scenes in Mexico.
What did Holder and Obama do when Congressional committees were investigating Fast and Furious?
Obama invoked executive privilege, allowing Holder to withhold documents the committee sought. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee held Holder in contempt and sued for the documents.
Yet to this very day, the government has not come clean about what actually happened that night and its connection to Fast and Furious.
This past weekend, Holder began instructing DOJ employees to give lawful same-sex marriages full and equal recognition to the greatest extent possible under the law. The policy was announced despite last year’s lie (well, one of them anyway) by Obama that gay marriage issues were going to be left to the states.
Wednesday, AP reporter Pete Yost writes: “Holder called on a group of states Tuesday to restore voting rights to ex-felons, part of a push to fix what Holder sees as flaws in the criminal justice system that have a disparate impact on racial minorities.”
He’s pressuring states (under a veiled threat of lawsuits like he always does) to see through his racist eyes and make life better for – as he puts it – “5.8 million of our fellow citizens (that) are prohibited from voting because of current or previous felony convictions.”
And what about the IRS?
The IRS has proposed rules that would limit certain “candidate-related political activity,” but leave open the question of how much the activity would be restricted.
Those limited activities would include voter drives and voter registration efforts, as well as ads that “expressly advocate for a clearly identified political candidate or candidates of a political party.”
Also included would be ads that mention a politician or a political party within 60 days of a general election or 30 days before a primary.
These are political, unlawful rules that bypass Congress, ignore the Constitution and thwart free speech of Obama’s critics, even after IRS officials acknowledged last spring that its agents had improperly targeted Tea Party and other conservative groups for extra scrutiny when they applied for tax-exempt status.
I truthfully can’t understand why more Democrats aren’t raising their voices against all these unlawful actions – they know the inherent dangers of allowing this to go unchecked.
Finally (for this week anyway), Obama uses his pen Tuesday to raise the minimum wage of all federal workers to $10.10 an hour.
What a big-time, sophisticated economic plan to get this country out of $17 trillion in debt.
As you’ve read here on these pages before, “Another minimalist economic action by a minimalist president.”
