William K. “Bill” Moody, 81, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at Wheatridge Park Care Center.
He was born May 1, 1932, to Melvin and Inez (Swanson) Moody in Valparaiso, Neb.
He married Oletha (Monroe) Becker Dec. 4, 1964, at the First Baptist Church in Forgan, Okla. She survives.
He attended school in Malmo, Neb., graduating in 1950.
He served in U.S. Army during the Korean conflict from 1952-1954. He retired from Southwest Bell, later known as AT&T after 40 years. He owned and operated Liberal Vacuum Co. for 26 years. He was a former member of Communication Workers Assoc., Pioneer Telephone, and the Liberal Elks Lodge No. 1947.
Other survivors include stepson, Jerry Becker and wife, Mary, Topeka; sister, Beverly Dauber, Greensburg; four step grandchildren; two step great- grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Delmar Moody and Kenny Moody, and three sisters, Maxine Wilson, Darlene Voss and Diane Limback.
• Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Southern Baptist Church with Pastor Jack Jacob presiding.
Burial will follow at Liberal Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Brenneman Funeral Home.
