PLAINS – Patricia Ann Coats, 59, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita.

She was born July 26, 1950, to Glen E. and Rosamond Wilma (Boyd) Jones in Meade.

She married Terry Coats Dec. 22, 1966, at Clayton, N.M. He survives.

She attended Plains Grade School and was a 1968 graduate of Southwestern Heights High School.

She worked for Gigot Irrigation, Meade District Hospital, Meade Medical Clinic, Lone Tree Retirement Center and had owned and operated a floral shop in Plains.

She was a member of the Joyce L. Hamm Country Club and the United Methodist Church, both of Plains.

She enjoyed working in her yard, floral arranging, assisting her husband with farming duties, cooking, camping and spending time with her family and friends.

She is also survived by two sons,                                                        Troy W. Coats and wife, Rhonda, Olathe, and Wesley M. Coats and wife, Patricia, Plains; two daughters, Tracy A. Cook and husband, Ed, Satanta, and Tammy F. Reiss and husband, Clint, Plains; one sister, Marlene K. Forbes and husband, R.A., Plains; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and mother-in-law, Faye Coats, Plains.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Jacqueline C. “Jackie” Amerin.

o Celebration of life services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Plains, with Pastor Steve Morgan presiding.

Cremation has taken place. Private family burial will be at the Plains Cemetery.
