The Meade Buffaloes took care of business against the Southwestern Heights Mustangs with a strong first half that led to a 67-57 win to reach the finals of the Hi-Plains League Tournament.

Jett Little led the Buffaloes offense with 26 points; Morgan Davis added 14, and Morgan Olvera scored 10.

Meade got their offense going early in the game, outscoring the Mustangs 20-14 in the first quarter.

The Buffaloes built on their lead in the second quarter with a 16-11 advantage to lead 36-25 at half.

Heights tightened up their defense in the third, but could not make up any ground with both teams scoring 14 points.

Heights outscored Meade 18-17 in the fourth, but it was too little, too late as Meade advanced with the 10-point win.

Nathan Johnsrud and Alex Loya each scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Mustangs. Frank Herrerra scored 10 points, nabbed five steals, and four assists.

Meade will take on Cimarron Saturday at 8 p.m. in the championship game. Heights will take on Satanta at 4:30 in the third place matchup.
