Linda Johnstone, 52, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

She was born Jan. 15, 1959, to Raymond and Norma Jean (Wilkinson) Combee in Liberal.

She married Brett Johnstone in 1997. He survives.

She was a graduate of Liberal High School where she was a cheerleader for her school.

Over the course of 30 years, she was a counselor in the drug and alcohol field and also worked in several other areas of the mental health field as well.

She enjoyed playing golf, taking short site seeing trips, meeting new people and helping others.

She is also survived by her mother; her stepfather, Bob Thornton, Liberal; one daughter, Bailey Bellamey; and one step-son, Kyle Johnstone.

She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Combee and one brother, Bruce Evan Combee.

• A memorial service will be at a later date in Newkirk, Okla., at a later date.

Cremation has taken place.
