A tight game came down to the final quarter, and the Meade Buffaloes came away with a big road win over the Southwestern Heights Mustangs, 76-71.
The Mustangs led the Buffaloes 58-57 heading into the fourth quarter, but Meade played their best defense of the game in the fourth, holding Heights to just 13 points to get the win.
Heights started the game on fire, jumping out to a 25-15 lead by the end of the first quarter.
Meade rebounded in the second quarter with a22-14 advantage, but Heights still held a two-point lead at half, 39-37.
Meade cut the lead to just one in the third by outscoring the Mustangs 20-19.
Frank Herrera led the Mustangs in scoring with 21 on 10 of 16 shooting. Cody Jennings added 16 points and 10 rebounds; and Nathan Johnsrud scored 15 and grabbed five boards.
Heights was 24 of 46 from inside the arc, and 5 of 14 outside. Heights was 8 of 12 at the free throw line.
Meade will host Satanta Friday. Southwestern Heights (5-4) will travel to Sublette Friday.
