Just eight days prior to Saturday night’s Beaver-Forgan matchup in the finals of the Oil Center Classic the Dusters had played well enough to make give Beaver fans in attendance hope of an upset in the third meeting.
Forgan quickly destroyed that hope with a 26-8 first quarter on their way to a 75-40 championship win.
Tournament MVP Jace Kerr led the way for the Bulldogs with 22 points, Chandler Bryer added 20, including four treys, and Luis Ordonez scored 12.
Beaver’s Garrett Weber, who also made the all-tournament team, was held to just 12 points.
After jumping out to the big lead in the first, Forgan added to their lead in the second with an 18-12 advantage to go up by 24 at the half (44-20).
Beaver played their best defensive quarter in the third, but still could not make up any ground and trailed 54-29 heading into the fourth.
Forgan’s Demetrius Alston was also named to the all-tournament team. Cameron Vanatta won the sixth man award.
Beaver’s Jorge Rivera was named to the all-tournament team as well.
No.2 Forgan (12-0) will take on Fargo-Gage Tuesday at Gage.
Beaver (9-5) will travel to Texhoma Friday.
