Walter E. Clay, 101, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at Liberal Good Samaritan Center.

He was born Nov. 24, 1912, to Charles and Pearl (Birden) Clay in Hydro, Okla.

He married Opal Emloe May 25, 1935, in Pampa, Texas. She died Jan. 5, 1970, in Amarillo, Texas.

He then married Jessie Pauline Gallman Sept. 5, 1971, in Plainville, Texas. She died April 16, 2006.

He was a graduate of Garber, Okla., High School.

He was employed with PAMCO until retiring in 1983 after which he did small engine repair until 2000.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Pampa and the First Christian Church of Liberal.

He enjoyed baseball and dominos.

He is survived by one son-in-law, Don Fry, Evans, Colo.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and two daughters.

• A graveside committal service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Restlawn Memorial Gardens  with the Rev. Terry Ford presiding.

There will be no visitation.
