The Hooker Bulldogs steadily built a lead in the first three quarters, then held on just long enough to beat tournament host Arapaho-Butler for a 46-44 win to advance to the consolation game Saturday.

Going into the fourth quarter Hooker held a 36-27 lead, but Arapaho-Butler rallied to score 17 in the final stanza. But Hooker got just enough to hold off the Indians for the two-point win.

Hooker built a 12-8 lead in the first quarter, and after both teams scored 10 in the second still led 22-18 at half.

The Bulldogs added to the lead with a 14-9 advantage in the third for a nine-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.

John Godfrey led all Bulldog scorers with 13 points and Brandon Gomez added 11.

Hooker will face Sayre Saturday at 2:30 in the consolation game.
