Megan Besecker found her spot from long-range against Bartlesville Saturday, but the Lady Redskins defense couldn’t slow down the Lady Bruins in a 62-43 loss.

Besecker hit five three pointers for 15 points to lead the Lady Redskins.

Liberal played close for a quarter-and-a-half, only trailing 19-14 after the first eight minutes.

But Liberal went cold in the second quarter, and the Lady Bruins heated up. Bartlesville outscored Liberal 20-6 in the second quarter to jump out to a 39-20 halftime lead.

The two teams played even in the second half.

Two Lady Bruins accounted for 42 of their 62 points. Hayley Tucker and Olivia Culver each scored 21. Tucker 12 in the first quarter.

Liberal’s Jada Mickens followed Besecker’s 15 with 11 points, and Jai Chapman, who has been the focus of the opposition’s defense all season, scored 10 including five free throws.

The Lady Redskins (0-4) will host Perryton Friday.
